I studied voice technique in London with Marion Studholme, Gerardine Arthur and Rita Hunter, starting initially with a classical repertoire and gaining performance experience in Opera Workshop Companies (Royal Opera House, Mayer-Lissmann Opera Centre). I then moved to Ibiza and in 1996 performed weekly to a crowd of 10,000 at Privilege Night Club for the Manumission parties. I was one of the first artists to mix classical and electronic music, working with Alfredo Fiorito, the founder of Balearic Beat. In 2002 I collaborated on a songwriting project with DJ Taucher (Millenium Bitch) which reached number nine in the dance charts in Germany and I’ve had my original songs included on several compilations including: Techno Nation 1 (sold more than 67,000 copies), Webster Hall Chillin’ in IbizaCafé Oriental 6, and Eclipse. I’ve collaborated with composer/producer/artist Chris Le Blanc as co-lyricist on tracks such as Beyond the Sunsets (Karma Loft) and You put a Spell on Me (L’art Mystique).

I’ve given recital concerts with repertoires as diverse as music from musical theatre and filmrenaissance and traditional folk music, as well as art-songs from the 20th century, and  I’ve had several students of voice technique over the years, some of whom have gone on to have international careers; Angela Cervantes and Bahramji for example.

More recently, I studied Music Technology at level 2, Audio Recording Skills at Level 1 and Studio Production.  I created original music for the 2019 Kiss My Fairy promo campaign video and during 2019, I produced and presented a radio show called – IN THE COMPANY OF POETS – on Radio Matlock and on Artefaktor Radio.

Always interested in visual art and in multi media presentations, I collaborated with the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University in September of 2021 by creating an audio composition from a poem I wrote to accompany the John Hoyland, Last Paintings Exhibition. We had a presentation on the 29th September and my composition was played and then made available at the exhibition by QR code. My poem was displayed on the wall of the gallery. The poem, called Blossoms in the Sky, was then published by SHU as part of the Off the Shelf Festival in Sheffield and made available through the Short Story Dispenser at the Millennium Gallery Gift Shop.

Due to huge disruption on account of the pandemic and most of my live performances being cancelled for two years now, I have chosen to spend time writing and developing a brand new body of work with a view to releasing an album in 2023 and scheduling performances to coincide with the release.
